Hand Coiled Black and White on Red and Modern with Flared Lip Signed KC
In Very Good Condition
Jemez pottery is traditionally hand-coiled from local clay, often using natural slips and pigments for polychrome (multi-color) designs. Red clay body with black, white, and sometimes other earth-tone painted designs (geometric, feathers, corn, butterflies, etc.). Techniques like stone polishing (for a shiny finish), matte areas, incising (etching), or sgraffito. Small to miniature sizes are common for many signed pieces.
