Stewart Lanza is recognized as a Hopi artist, and his works are valued for their authenticity and craftsmanship.

The Supai Uncle Kachina, also known as Konin or Me-yak-so-la, is a traditional Hopi Katsina doll representing the Havasupai people, neighbors to the Hopi in Arizona.  It is often depicted as a side dancer who moves to the rhythm of songs during water kiva ceremonies or spring and summer dances.  Carved from cottonwood root, these dolls are educational tools for teaching Hopi women about their religion and cosmology.

Due to the fragile nature of kachina dolls, we do not guarantee they will not break during shipping. We do our best to pack them well, but due to their fragile nature and even with the best packing, small pieces can break. If you are purchasing kachina dolls, please keep this in mind.
