Ros George is a renowned Hopi carver born into the Reed Clan on the Hopi Reservation in northeastern Arizona.  He began carving in 1973 and is celebrated for his contemporary full-figure Katsina dolls, which blend traditional symbolism with innovative, lifelike designs. George's work has earned numerous awards and is featured in collections like the Heard Museum in Phoenix, Arizona.  His pieces often highlight specific katsinam with intricate details, such as expressive faces, dynamic poses, and symbolic accessories, while staying true to Hopi spiritual essence.  He is particularly noted for transforming classic figures like Kokopelli into modern interpretations.
