Loretta Joe (born 1958) (signed as "L. Joe Acoma N.M." or similar) is from Acoma Pueblo. She is the daughter of Florence Waconda and granddaughter of Lupe Concho. She was trained by her grandmother and mother and began making pottery for sale around 1977. She is known for large vessels, classic Acoma motifs (such as fine-line patterns, parrots, rainbows, plants, flowers, and geometrics), and high-quality polychrome (multi-color) work. Her pieces often feature detailed, traditional designs while maintaining the thin, lightweight character of Acoma pottery. Her work appears in galleries (e.g., King Galleries, Native Skies Gallery), auctions, and museum collections, including pieces at the National Museum of the American Indian.
