Acoma Pueblo pottery is renowned for its thin-walled construction, intricate hand-painted designs, and use of natural clays and pigments from the region around Acoma Pueblo (also known as "Sky City") in New Mexico—one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in North America. A less common but recognized contemporary or experimental style among some Acoma potters, diverging from the classic fine-line geometric or polychrome painted designs.
