J.H. Shutivo is pottery from the Shutiva family of Acoma Pueblo (note the common spelling variation: Shutiva or Shutivo). The most prominent potter associated with this name is Jackie Shutiva (also known as Histia Shutiva or signing as J.M. Shutiva / J. Montano Shutiva), a respected contemporary Acoma artist born in 1961.
She specializes in hand-coiled traditional and contemporary pieces, often with whiteware, corrugated surfaces, and designs inspired by ancient Anasazi and Hohokam cultures. Her mother, Stella Shutiva, taught her the craft, and she creates elegant jars, effigies (like owls), and vessels with polychrome geometric details.
