Acoma Pueblo, often called "Sky City," is located atop a 357-foot sandstone mesa about 60 miles west of Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in North America, with evidence of occupation dating back over 1,000 years. The Acoma people, part of the Keresan-speaking Pueblo tribes, are renowned for their fine pottery, particularly jars (often referred to as ollas or water jars), which embody centuries-old traditions while serving both functional and artistic purposes. These pieces are highly prized by collectors for their thin walls, intricate designs, and cultural significance, reflecting the Acoma's deep connection to their land, history, and spiritual beliefs.
