Katherine Victorino (b. 1968) is a respected Acoma Pueblo potter known for her traditional hand-coiled jars and ollas featuring fine-line black-on-white (or polychrome) designs inspired by ancient Mimbres, Mogollon, and Pueblo motifs.kinggalleries.com +1 She is the daughter of potter Monroe Victorino and learned the craft from a young age (starting around 9) from her stepmother, Beverly Garcia (Victorino). By age 20, she was supporting herself full-time through pottery. She uses traditional methods: hand-coiling with local clay, yucca brushes for painting, natural mineral paints/slips, and outdoor firing. Her work is signed (often "K. Victorino / Acoma, N.M." or similar).
