Acoma pottery is renowned for its exceptionally thin walls, hand-coiled construction, fluted or organic rims, and precise geometric or figurative designs painted in black, terracotta/red, and sometimes orange on a white or buff slip. Designs often draw from ancestral Puebloan, Mimbres, and Mogollon traditions. Pieces were historically functional and remain culturally significant.
