Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloan) mugs are distinctive prehistoric ceramic vessels from the American Southwest, particularly the Mesa Verde region in southwestern Colorado, dating roughly 1100–1300 CE (Pueblo III period).
These mugs are typically black-on-white pottery with geometric designs (e.g., cross-hatching, diamonds, lines), barrel- or cylindrical shapes, and often feature a small lug handle (a small loop or projection just below the rim) or sometimes a strap handle with T-shaped/keyhole cutouts. They are linked to cliff dwellings like those at Mesa Verde National Park (one site even called "Mug House" for the mugs found there).
