Northern Paiute (Nevada, Oregon, Idaho) and Southern Paiute (Nevada, Utah, Arizona, California). The most famous sub-groups for basketry are the Washoe (often grouped with Paiute work), Owens Valley Paiute, and the Panamint/Shoshone-Paiute of Death Valley. Coiled basketry (almost always). Three-rod foundation is most common in older pieces; some very early ones use a two-rod or one-rod foundation.
