Antique Papago open baskets are traditional coiled baskets made by the Tohono O’odham people (formerly called Papago by outsiders; they prefer Tohono O’odham, meaning “Desert People”) of the Sonoran Desert in southern Arizona and northern Sonora, Mexico.
