An antique Pima tray basket is a traditional coiled basket woven by the Pima people (also known as the Akimel O'odham), who are Indigenous to central and southern Arizona along the Gila and Salt Rivers. These shallow, tray-like forms were historically used for winnowing grains, parching seeds, serving food, or as decorative/household items. They represent a highly skilled Native American basketry tradition that flourished in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
