An Apache Toy Doll Cradle is a miniature cradleboard (also called a papoose carrier) crafted by or in the style of the Apache people, a Native American tribe from the southwestern United States. These are not just toys but culturally significant items that educate children about traditional Apache practices. Full-sized cradleboards were historically used to securely carry infants on the mother's back, allowing hands-free mobility during daily tasks. The toy versions are smaller replicas, often handmade with authentic materials, and sometimes include a small cloth or beaded doll to represent a baby.
