Chumash beads made from shell and stone are significant artifacts from the Indigenous Chumash people of the Santa Barbara Channel region in Southern California. The Chumash (whose name may derive from terms related to "bead makers" or "shell bead money makers") had one of the longest continuous bead-making traditions in North America, spanning over 8,000–10,000 years.
