Hand Coiled Clay Pot Made for Cooking with Fire Clouds

In Very Good Condition

California Cooking Pots are prehistoric Native American hand-coiled cooking pots from California's desert regions (such as the Mojave and Colorado/Sonoran Deserts). These are utilitarian vessels made by Indigenous groups like ancestral Yuman-speaking peoples (e.g., Kamia, Mohave), Kumeyaay (Ipai/Tipai), and others. Pottery production in these areas was a relatively late development, mainly from the Late Prehistoric period (roughly the last 500–1,300 years before present, or ca. 15th–18th century in some examples).
