Mary E. Quintana (also known as Mary E. Quintana-Baca or "Parrot") is a renowned Native American potter from the Cochiti Pueblo in New Mexico. Born in 1946 into a family with deep roots in traditional clay work, she was inspired by her mother to pursue ceramics from a young age. Quintana began creating pottery actively in 1980 and has since become celebrated for her figurative sculptures, particularly storyteller figures—whimsical depictions of elders or figures surrounded by children, symbolizing oral storytelling traditions in Pueblo culture. She also produces nativity scenes, animal figures, and other clay sculptures.
