Dena M. Suina is a contemporary Native American potter known for Cochiti Pueblo-style storyteller figurines (often called storyteller pottery dolls).andreafisherpottery.com She was born in September 1961 into San Felipe Pueblo (daughter of Joe and Juana Trancosa). Pottery was not actively practiced there at the time, so she had little early exposure. In the 1980s she married into Cochiti Pueblo and learned traditional hand-coiling, pinching, and painting techniques by observing and working with her mother-in-law (sources identify this as Ada Suina or Louise Suina). She has been actively producing clay art since around 1991.
