Eskimo (now often replaced by Inuit or specific group names like Yupik or Iñupiaq) is a traditional Arctic hunting weapon combining elements of a harpoon and a thrown dart. This lightweight projectile was designed for marine mammal hunting, especially seals and sea otters, and differed from heavier hand-thrust harpoons used for larger prey like walruses or whales.
