On July 11, 2012 our family gallery , Len Wood’s Indian Territory, Inc. of Laguna Beach, CA  purchased this Navajo ring as well as several other jewelry items from Sylvia Hubbell, wife of John L Hubbell (b 1918 – d 2012 (13)  who was being moved to assisted living in Laguna Beach, CA. Sylvia identified this as her husbands Mothers ring.  These items were then placed in our family public museum at the gallery which was called “Museum of the First People”. In 2014 the gallery split in two parts, with Matt Wood opening Antique American Indian Art, llc (AAIA) in Washington and this item was part of the split inventory.

In 2026 AAIA has put several items from this collection to market.

From the estate of John Lorenzo Hubbell (1918-2012 (2013), Son of Roman, grandson of Ganado Trader, John Lorenzo Hubbell. This Ring was passed to John by his Father as his mother died in his childbirth.  John's father,  Roman (1891-1957), who, along with his broth JLH Jr., took over the Hubbell Trading Post in 1930 upon the passing of their father JLH (1883-1942).

Sylvia identified this ring as being JLH Mothers ring, Alma Door (d-1918).
