The Havasupai (meaning "people of the blue-green waters") are a Native American tribe residing in the remote Havasupai Reservation, located deep within a side canyon of the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Known for their agricultural lifestyle and isolation, which preserved traditional crafts, the Havasupai are renowned for their finely woven coiled baskets. These baskets were essential household items for storage, cooking, and carrying, and they represent some of the finest basketry traditions in North American Indigenous art.
