The Havasupai Round Tray Basket is a traditional form of coiled basketry created by the Havasupai people, a Native American tribe residing in the remote Havasupai Reservation at the bottom of the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Known as the "People of the Blue-Green Waters" (Havasu 'Baaja in their language), the Havasupai have a rich history of basket weaving dating back centuries, where baskets served essential roles in daily life for food preparation, storage, and ceremonies. These trays, in particular, were used for winnowing grain, serving food, or as ritual items, reflecting the tribe's deep connection to their agricultural and canyon environment.
