Historic Papago (Tohono O’odham) desert cook pot pottery is a traditional utilitarian vessels made by the Tohono O’odham people (formerly called Papago) of southern Arizona’s Sonoran Desert. These pots were everyday tools for cooking, especially boiling beans, soups, and stews, and were widely used and traded in the region from the Spanish colonial period through the early 20th century.
