Harrington Poleviyuma (also referenced as H. Poleviyuma) is a Hopi Pueblo silversmith known for traditional sterling silver overlay jewelry, primarily from the mid-to-late 20th century (examples appear from the 1980s onward). His documented work includes small sterling overlay earrings featuring rain/wind designs or bold geometric Hopi motifs with oxidized (blackened) recessed areas for contrast. Pieces are typically hallmarked “Poleviyuma” (or similar) along with “sterling,” and measure roughly 0.75–1 inch. He is associated with classic Hopi overlay technique: a top sheet of silver is sawn with intricate designs (often symbolic of nature, balance, movement, or Hopi cultural elements), then soldered to a solid base sheet whose recessed areas are darkened.
