The Badger (Honan) Katsina acts as a powerful healer. Hopi people pray to him for the growth of medicinal herbs and roots; he then provides herbal medicines. He also serves as a rain messenger, like other Katsinam, and appears in summer dances and ceremonies such as the Mixed Kachina Dances or Water Serpent ceremony.
