The Mudhead (Hopi: Koyemsi or similar terms) is a clown figure known for humor, enforcement of rules during ceremonies, and playful challenges like contests of strength or games with the audience. Mudheads were among the first beings to emerge into the Fourth World (current world) from the sipapu (emergence hole), emerging covered in mud.
