Ramon Albert Sr. was a Hopi carver from Hotevilla on Third Mesa, Arizona, known for his traditional kachina (katsina) dolls. These hand-carved figures, typically from cottonwood root, represent Hopi spirit beings (katsinam) central to Hopi religious and cultural traditions—messengers that bring rain, teach lessons, and connect the people to the spiritual world.
His works are referenced in books on Hopi kachina carving, such as Erik Bromberg's The Hopi Approach to the Art of Kachina Doll Carving, where his Cat Katsina (Mosa) is cited as an exemplary traditional representation. Albert Sr.'s dolls often feature detailed painting, classic poses, and signatures from Hotevilla, sometimes with a rabbit hallmark.
