Hopi kachina dolls (also spelled katsina or tithu in Hopi) are sacred carved figures central to the spiritual traditions of the Hopi people, a Pueblo tribe residing on three mesas in northeastern Arizona. These dolls represent katsinam—supernatural spirits embodying natural elements, ancestors, animals, or deities that act as messengers between the human world and the spiritual realm. The katsinam are believed to descend from the San Francisco Peaks during the Kachina season (from winter solstice to mid-July), bringing rain, fertility, and guidance to ensure harmony with nature.
