Tom Fredericks is a respected Hopi carver from Kykotsmovi Village on Third Mesa, Arizona. He is the son of master carver John Fredericks and has been carving since the mid-1980s. He specializes in full-figure Katsinam but also creates sculpture-style pieces that follow the natural curves of the cottonwood root to capture motion and dynamism. His work often features a distinctive soft, pastel-like painting style.
