Maiden/Mana Kachinas (e.g., Butterfly Maiden/Polikmana, Warrior Maiden, Water Maiden/Pahlikmana, Corn Maiden) depict female spirits. They often feature distinctive hairstyles like side whorls (squash-blossom style for unmarried Hopi girls), tablitas (flat headdresses), and attributes symbolizing fertility, rain, or other blessings. These dolls teach young Hopi girls about the spirits and cultural roles.
