Hopi Pueblo "Mana" Kachina dolls represent female (maiden or woman) spirit beings, known as Katsinam (singular Katsina, often spelled Kachina in English). In the Hopi language, "Mana" (or "Maana") means female, woman, or maiden. When appended to a Kachina name, it indicates the female counterpart or version of that spirit.
