Lawrence Namoki (1949–2020) was a renowned Hopi Pueblo potter from Walpi Village on First Mesa in Arizona. He is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished contemporary Hopi artists, known for his innovative and deeply carved pottery that often incorporated Hopi cultural motifs, Katsina (Kachina) figures, legends, and three-dimensional elements. His work frequently featured intricate sgraffito (incised designs), polychrome coloring (multiple colors), and surfaces finished to resemble stained wood or with painted details.
