Hopi Pueblo Miniature Kachina Dolls by B. Yanez is a small, hand-carved figures created by Bess Yanez (born 1967), a Hopi artist from Hotevilla Village on Third Mesa. She specializes in miniature katsina (or kachina) dolls, often signed as "B. Yanez" or "Bess Yanez."
These dolls are traditionally carved from cottonwood root and painted with acrylics or other materials, representing various katsinam—Hopi spirit beings that embody natural forces, ancestors, or deities. Bess learned the craft from her mother, Mary Yanez, and began carving around 1983. Her miniatures are highly collectible, often depicting figures like the Ahöla Katsina, Ogre, or Zuni Rain Priest, and have been sold through galleries like Adobe Gallery in Santa Fe.
