A Hopi miniature Crow Mother Kachina is a classic small-scale collectible katsina doll. The Crow Mother is one of the most important and maternal figures among the Hopi katsinas. She is considered the mother of all katsinas (or specifically of the hú and certain groups like the Túngwups), a chief wuya (important spirit), and a symbol of leadership, compassion, protection, guidance, and nurturing. She plays a key role in ceremonies, particularly during initiations of young boys into katsina beliefs and society, where she appears to oversee and guard the children. Her trusted companion is often Eototo, and she carries yucca whips (for discipline or ritual) in many depictions. Traditional appearances include during Powamu (Bean Dance) or other winter/spring ceremonies to bring blessings, fertility, and moral instruction. A green or blue case mask (helmet-like) with prominent black crow-like wings projecting from the sides of the head (symbolizing her crow association). A white or light face area with minimal markings.

Often a woman's dress, ceremonial robe or sash, moccasins, and sometimes added feathers (like duck down) or carved feather details on the head. She may hold yucca whips in her hands or have other ritual elements. The body is usually painted in earthy tones with feather patterns.
