Hand Coiled Bowl with Peach and Cream Field with a Painted Dark Brown Geometric Design

In Good Condition and Has Surface Wear as Pictured

Hopi Pueblo pottery bowls are traditional hand-coiled vessels made by Hopi (and Hopi-Tewa) artists on the Hopi Reservation in northeastern Arizona. They feature distinctive polychrome designs (typically black and red mineral paints on a buff, cream, orange, or yellow slipped ground), often with geometric, feather, bird, migration, or abstract motifs inspired by ancient Sikyatki styles (circa 1375–1625 CE). Bowls are coil-built, stone-polished, painted with yucca brushes using natural pigments (e.g., beeweed for black), and pit-fired outdoors with sheep dung and wood, which can produce attractive fire clouds.
