Evelyn Poolheco was a renowned Hopi-Tewa potter active during the mid-20th century. As a member of the Spider Clan from the First Mesa Tewa Village (Hano or Polacca) at Hopi Pueblo in northeastern Arizona, she contributed to the rich tradition of Southwest Native American ceramics. Her work bridges ancient Hopi motifs with modern interpretations, particularly drawing from the prehistoric Sikyatki Polychrome style excavated in the late 19th century.
