Harrison Jim Jr. (also sometimes Harrison Jim Sr.), a member of the renowned Navasie family of potters. His pieces are highly valued for their traditional hand-coiled construction and "Sikyatki" revival polychrome style. Harrison Jim Jr. is part of a distinguished pottery lineage. He is the son of Marianne Navasie (3rd Frog Woman), grandson of Joy Navasie (2nd Frog Woman), and great-grandson of Paqua Naha (the original 1st Frog Woman). Harrison Jim Sr.(his father or senior relative) often collaborates with Marianne Navasie and is known for combining 3D carved Katsina figures with traditional Hopi designs. He continues to gather raw clay from tribal lands, uses natural pigments like wild bee plant for black paint, and fires his work outdoors using sheep dung.
