Louden Silas is a contemporary Hopi (Hopi-Tewa) potter from a prominent pottery-making family on First Mesa. She is the granddaughter of the well-known potter Roberta Youvella Silas (1939–2009) and the daughter of Daren Silas and Renee Silas Aguilar.

The Silas family (often associated with the Roadrunner or Kachina/Parrot clans) has produced multiple generations of skilled traditional potters, including siblings/aunts/uncles such as JoFern Silas Puffer, Antoinette Silas, Lou Ann (or Louann/Luan), Loretta Silas (Poleahla), Venora Silas, and others. They are known for hand-coiled polychrome pottery using natural clays and pigments, traditional outdoor firing, and designs inspired by ancestral Hopi (especially Sikyatki) motifs like geometric patterns, kachinas, clouds, rain symbols, birds, and nature elements.
