While young girls are traditionally given tihu (Kachina dolls) to learn about the spirits, boys are given miniature bows and arrows by the Katsinam (Kachina spirits) during ceremonies like the Powamu (Bean Dance). These items are not mere toys; they are handcrafted by male relatives to teach cultural identity and are often decorated with symbolic colors and feathers.
