The Hopi Wolf Kachina doll, known natively in the Hopi language as Kweo, Kwewu, or Kwewuu, represents a highly respected animal spirit and master hunter in Hopi Pueblo religious tradition. These figures, or tithu, serve primarily as educational tools gifted to Hopi children to teach them about the Katsinam (spirit beings) who visit the villages between the winter solstice and mid-July to bring rain, fertility, and balance to the world.
