Hand Carved from Ivory of a Sitting Bird with Long Neck
Excellent Condition
The Inuit Ivory Sitting Bird is a traditional hand-carved sculpture originating from Indigenous Inuit artisans, primarily in Arctic regions of Canada (such as Nunavut, Nunavik, or the Inuit communities of Alaska and Greenland). These pieces are crafted from marine ivory—most commonly walrus tusk ivory, though whale tooth or narwhal tusk may also be used—due to its dense, creamy texture and ability to take fine detail.
