Isleta Pueblo (Pueblo of Isleta), located south of Albuquerque, New Mexico, is known for its pottery traditions, but not for woven baskets. Traditional Isleta pottery was originally plain redware or utilitarian undecorated pieces. In the late 19th century (around 1879), immigrants from Laguna Pueblo introduced polychrome (multi-colored) styles, which became dominant and often feature geometric designs in black, red, and white on a cream base.
