Isleta Pueblo (located south of Albuquerque, New Mexico) has a long tradition of pottery-making, often featuring polychrome (multi-color) designs with geometric patterns, though the style is generally less elaborate than that of neighboring pueblos like Acoma or Zia. Many Isleta pieces, especially smaller or miniature ones, were produced for the tourist trade in the 20th century. These are typically hand-coiled, hand-painted, and fired in traditional outdoor pits or kilns.
