Phillip M. Fragua is a member of the active Fragua pottery-making family from Jemez Pueblo. He collaborates with his wife, Linda Lucero Fragua, and belongs to a lineage that includes other noted artists (such as relatives involved in storytellers and Koshare/clown figures). Jemez potters like the Fraguas are known for hand-coiled, hand-painted clay figures that often feature whimsical or narrative scenes with animals, children, or cultural motifs.
