Marie G. Romero (full name Marie Gachupin Romero, 1927–2007) was a renowned potter from Jemez Pueblo in New Mexico. She was a member of the Corn Clan, born to parents Joe and Persingula Gachupin, and began learning the traditional art of pottery making at around age 8, inspired by her grandparents and family traditions.

Jemez Pueblo pottery, including pieces by Marie G. Romero, is traditionally polychrome (multi-colored), featuring red and buff (cream/beige) tones with designs in black, often combining stone-polished slips (for shiny areas) and matte paints. The clay is hand-gathered from sacred areas within the pueblo, hand-coiled (without a wheel), painted with natural pigments, and fired outdoors in a wood fire.
