Jemez Pueblo redware pottery, crafted in the Walatowa pueblo of New Mexico, is widely celebrated for its warm earth tones, striking contrasts between stone-polished and matte slips, and intricate modern carving techniques. While historically known for ancient black-on-white utility vessels, the modern era of Jemez ceramic art is defined by vibrant red slips and a decorative carving technique called sgraffito.
