Karuk miniature baskets are finely woven works of traditional Native American basketry created by the Karuk people, an indigenous tribe from Northwestern California along the Klamath River. These baskets share stylistic and technical similarities with those of neighboring tribes like the Hupa and Yurok, often featuring twined construction using natural materials such as, Hazel or willow sticks for the warp, Conifer or pine root for the weft and Overlays of bear grass (white), maidenhair fern (black), and dyed Woodwardia fern (red) for intricate geometric patterns.
