Stone pestles (and associated mortars) from the Klamath Basin in Oregon are Native American ground stone tools primarily linked to the Klamath Tribes (and related groups like the Modoc). These artifacts were used for processing food—grinding seeds (such as wokas, a key water-lily seed staple), herbs, roots, dried fish/meat, and other materials into meal or powder. They represent a significant part of the material culture in the Klamath region of south-central/southeastern Oregon, with evidence of use spanning thousands of years into the historic period.
