Hand Made from Sterling Silver of a Shard Inspired from an Ancient Pottery Piece Stamped .925 Ha-Ta-Weh with a Corn Stalk Hallmark

Mark O. (Mark D.) Stevens is a Laguna Pueblo silversmith best known for his one‑of‑a‑kind sterling silver replicas of ancient Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi) pottery shards. Stevens is an enrolled Laguna Pueblo artist who creates unique, never‑repeated pottery‑shard replica jewelry using a 3‑D overlay technique. He began silversmithing in the mid‑2000s, inspired by a pottery shard he found at Laguna Pueblo, and now shows at major Native art markets nationwide.

Stevens uses sterling silver (.925) and a 3‑D overlay technique to recreate the contours and painted designs of ancient pottery fragments. Each shard is replicated only once — never repeated. After the piece is sold, the original pottery shard is returned to Laguna Pueblo, never used again.
