In Very Good Condition
A prehistoric Native American grooved stone axe head (also called a full-grooved or 3/4-grooved axe), a common ground stone tool from the Archaic to Woodland periods (roughly 8000 BCE–1000 CE or later in some regions). These heavy tools were primarily used for woodworking—chopping trees, splitting logs, and heavy construction—by hafting (attaching) them to a wooden handle with sinew, cordage, or wedges secured in the groove.
